FOUNDATION HISTORY

The Wildcat Run Charitable Foundation idea started in 2011 and, by 2013, was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  The original leaders were Gina Turkel and the late Mary Ann Casey, the first president.

Since then, through the generosity of Wildcat Run residents, the Foundation has contributed over $1 million to charities that focus on the needs of at-risk children.

Charity requests are reviewed to ensure donations go to deserving and efficient charities which support the Foundation’s mission of meeting children’s needs within Lee and Collier County.  Meetings with charity personnel are held, facilities are visited, and finances are reviewed as a part of the decision-making process to support an organization.

The Foundation Board establishes various fundraising activities each calendar year.  The annual primary fundraising event is a golf tournament, dinner, raffles, and silent and live auctions.  Other fundraising includes the Champion’s Drive (a letter campaign) and Memorial/Honorarium contributions.
